Bio-based Epoxy Resin

Epoxy resin is a kind of high molecular polymer, the molecular formula is (C11H12O3)n, which refers to the general name of a class of polymers containing more than two epoxy groups in the molecule. It is the polycondensation product of epichlorohydrin and bisphenol A or polyol. Due to the chemical activity of the epoxy group, a variety of compounds containing active hydrogen can be used to open the ring, cure and crosslink to form a network structure, so it is a thermosetting resin. Epoxy resins are widely used, and there are 16 main varieties including general-purpose adhesives, structural adhesives, high temperature resistant adhesives, low temperature resistant adhesives, adhesives for water and wet surfaces, conductive adhesives, optical adhesives, spot welding adhesives, and epoxy resin films. , styrofoam, strain glue, soft material adhesive, sealant, special glue, latent curing glue and civil construction glue.
Bisphenol A epoxy resin has the largest output and the most completed range, and now newly modified varieties are still increasing and the quality is constantly improving. However, many studies have shown that exposure to BPA can cause a variety of health problems, such as endocrine disorders, anxiety, short-term memory loss, obesity, diabetes and cardiovascular disease. The health hazards of BPA are already a self-evident conclusion, and in 2010 the US FDA raised further concerns based on data collected in multiple fetuses, infants and young children. Canada is the first country to ban BPA in packaging and containers (baby bottles). In March 2011, the European Union officially announced a complete ban on the sale of milk bottles containing bisphenol A. In China, since June 1, 2011, the production of polycarbonate baby bottles and other BPA-containing baby bottles has been banned. Since September 1, 2011, the import and sale of polycarbonate baby bottles and other baby bottles containing bisphenol A is prohibited, and the manufacturer or importer is responsible for the recall.
Our bio-based epoxy resin greatly reduce the amount of bisphenol A added, which is environmental friendly and healthy, and has higher thermal stability, burning resistance, extremely low temperature resistance, higher impact toughness and larger elongation at break, etc., which can meet the needs of Aerospace and other high-end uses since we have solved the problem of "cut throat" in the core technology.
